Anyone familiar with the Pypes Cat Back system?

I am looking to install a Pypes cat back with the violator muffler on my '86 GT, is anyone familiar with this system? I am looking for a good mellow sound. not too loud. Also would a 2 1/2" pipe fit on the stock cats at 2 1/4" without modification, as I am installing this myself?
I was also looking at the Ford Racing cat back system. Any other suggestions that has a reasonable price?
Thank you!

I don't have any experience with the Pypes system or the FRPP but a 2 1/2 inch catback will bolt right up to the stock midpipe. I have a feeling the Pypes system will be a little louder than the FRPP but with the stock cats neither system will be "too loud."

Valentino you want a job at Pypes? You said exactly what I would have said. It will bolt right up to the stock H-pipe and will be A little louder than the FRPP but with the stock cats neither will be annoying.

The Pypes catback is now stainless. I dont' think you will find a better value for the money. There are a few systems that are a little cheaper, but they will not last nearly as long.

Well I installed the Pypes Violators, and I like them! The hangers were welded on in the right places, and easy to put on. The sound was actually quieter then I thought, was disappointed when I first started her up, but after driving it on the road, the sound was awesome, and not loud at highway speeds but a very nice rumble when you stepped on it. I would highly recommend them. Now installing the new gas tank is a total different story! What a pain in the rear!
