93 Cobra R on Horsepower TV
Just to let everyone know, on Horsepower tv on spike they had today and will re-air tommorow a episode that contains a 93 Cobra R, The episode is about a 347 Build, but at the begining they show a built GT with terminator wheels and a real 93 Cobra R
i caught the episode today before work. i hate to see crap like that. it just reminds me how poor i am and cant do more to my car than id like lol. but i guess on the other hand its good motovation....R models are sweet..just dont care for the black/chrome wheels on them...
It does sound a little weak to me also, but I think Joe and Chuck (and that other kid) always tune their stuff real conservative 'cause when Joe got his '96 GT supercharged I think it still made less than 300hp. That black fox-body was sweet I wish they would have popped the hood.
as for the number of R's built, my fox-body recognition guide says 107...

i wouldnt do that to an original R. but thats probably pretty close for HP for a NA 347. didnt see the episode. but nice head andcam package on a 302 is good for about 300 at the wheels so 370 for a 347 sounds right. hope to catch the episode
id figure the crank horsepower would be at least over 400 horse. if heads and cam can do 300 wheel horse..that should make it around 350 or so to the crank...the extra cubes arent helping all that much it seems.

Bingo!! Those were N/A numbers, which absolutley earth shattering.. Slap a SC on that motor, or just squeeze some nitrous, and 500RWHP, will happen faster than you can flush the toilet after eating some spicey pasta!

I guess 2000 was the end of Cobra R's...since they removed the Cobra name from the GT500...
Maybe a GT500R.
Tuned to 500hp..aluminum block...carbon fiber body panels to bring car weight down..
