I was looking for a 87-93 5.0, but after seeing the 82 GT I'm stuck on it. My idea was to find one (or make a clone from 79-82 car) and put an 89+ 5.0 and T-5 in it.

I've found it is very difficult to find any of these early foxes let alone one in my area, so is it possible to make an 83+ look like an 82?

The only one I can find near me is a coupe, and I strongly prefer a hatchback.

By the way anyone have a guess on how much it would cost to ship a car from ohio to kansas? I don't want to submit all my information to get a quote.

85 had a different grille, but i think everything fits up to 86(same as an 85) but some year in the 87-93's the rear fenders were changed for wider tires. you can also ask the guys on www.foureyedpride.com, they're helpful. I have an '82 door on my mustang i think, the VIN on parts on the door read E2, E for 80's ere and 2 for two years in of course

i think the only real difference is the front fascia in 82 while others had a different one, isnt that right?

As you are looking, and probably aware, the '82 GT front airdams are extemely hard to come by, but 'regular' '82 front ends can be found rather easily. '83 Front Ends were all the same, if I remember right, it wasn't until '84 that the fog lights came back to the GT/Turbo. SVOPaul can provide further insight, as well as Tanner's suggestion for foureyedpride.com. They helped me quite a bit with my previous Capri's, who by the way share the '82 GT front airdamn.

Yes I have noticed. The whole car is hard to find too.

So underneath their basically the same car, and I would be able to take say an 83 and put an 82 GT bumper cover/airdam on it. Are the hoods different also, all the hoods I find say 79-82, 83-86, or 87-93. This is probably due to the difference in bumper covers right.

I found an 82 GT in Ohio that "MUST SEE TOO APPRICIATE." I have to figure out how I would get it home before I persue it more though.

One last thing (for now), do early foxes have problems with rust floors like the classics. I would think after 15 years they would have fixed that, but I want to make sure.

Thanks for the help.

they're more notorious for kicker panel rust and hatch rust, check around the hatch seals, and also check the wheel wells those are the worst spots

You know parents these days.

I've decided it will probably cost more to try and find the GT pieces not to mention the time it would take so if i can't get the GT I guess i'll have to move on.

I've found about 4 82 GT's in the US so far. I'm looking at one in Ohio that is red with a blacked out hood. It doesn't give much info, but I need to convince my parents before I call to find out more.

Then I need to find a 89-93 engine and T-5. :bang:

By the way I would like to make the hood scoop functional with the 5.0 fuelie, but I don't know how the airflow would work with it.

I would buy a 89 gt and buy a wrecked 82, and swap em around. go to some salvage auctions and check em out.
