5 Lug Conversion on a 93 cobra
5 Lug Conversion on a 93 cobra
Hey guys been awhile, Im Lookin for a 5 Lug conversion for my Cobra, i want to keep it disc on all fours but i dont want to pay that butt kickin price of 2400's that ford wants for there conversion, can anyone tell me were i can get a cheaper conversion or were to get SVO or Cobra R stuff at. Thanks Scott
The 5 lug conversion is pretty much just like any other Fox Mustang. The basic swap is to use Lincoln Mark VII front rotors and for the rear you can use 1991-92 Lincoln Mark VII axles and rotors....the brakes are the same.
If you want more wheel choices as the front rotor swap will still limit you then you can do the SN-95 Brake swap on the front of the car.
If you change the brake style on the rear then you can use any 1984-1990 Mark VII rear axle/brake setup....these are the EXACT same parts that Saleen used on the Fox Mustangs.
This swap is FAR, FAR cheaper than $2400

Get 94-95 spindles. Has to be 94-95 or your tire will stick out cause 96 and up spindles are for a wider track.
This is the rear set im going with when i do my notch. I have 95 spindles and just need to save money to get these and calipers and rotors and 93 cobra master cyclinder and proportion valve to.

Snkchmr I really like the stance of your car! It is the best I have ever seen. Would you mind providing the detail of how you obtained this? Do you have any rubbing issues? I would like to know what parts you used, who you purchased it from, how much it cost and did you do the labor or have someone else do it and if so what did it cost you? If you would be so kind is to share becuase I would love to duplicate your setup on my car. The brakes looks awesome in the wheels and your wheel and tire combo looks perfect. Please share these details. Your car looks fantastic!!!!
