Here's a list of some basics that I plan on doing for my 5.0 this summer, once I get outta college.

3 point strut brace (fenders & firewall mounts)
G Load/Kmember brace
Remove air silencer
K&N air filter
Replace spark plugs/wires/cap/rotor
65mm throttle body
GT-40/Cobra intake manifold
H-pipe
Welded subframe connectors

Going to redo the exhaust as well, but first I need to hear a few of them in person before I make my decision. Since I have a vert', I'm going to be hearing the exhaust a lot, so I've gotta make a good choice.

My question is:
Underdrive pulleys rob power from the alternator, power steering, water pump, etc. Will installing them on my car give me problems down the road? I worry about my alternator because:
1) My car is a convertable and I'm sure the drop-top takes loads of power to run.
2) I have a 1500 watt stereo system.

Also, any other cheap, DIY jobs I should add to my list?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Get a bigger alternator!! 130amp

Sounds sweet, have a good time this summer. I am a sucker for flowmasters on a 5.0. (Had them on all my 5.0 Capris.)

Also, maybe a shifter if you don't already have one.

Anyone know of any good tail lights out there for foxes? Right now I've got the standard ones... I'm not a big fan of the GT slotted ones, or the Cobra ones, or the altezza ones... Are there any other options as far as tail lights go?

I think alot of folks will put the LX tail lights on there. They are clean looking in my opinion.

Yeah... they're probably what I'm gonna stick with. I dunno, I think tri-bar vertical lights would look pretty nice on the fox, but I don't think there's any out there...

Speaking of Taillights, does anybody know of a place that sells the GT "cheesegrader" light covers...my passenger's side is chiped right at the corner. Can you get them pre-painted need a twilightblue one. I know they're hard to find.

I just picked up a pair of 82 taillights (5 vertical lights) at a yard. Gonna see if I can't hack em' up a little.

Gonna see what I can do with those... I'll remove the two inner red lights and replace them with flat black plastic. I think there's gonna be too much blank space when I'm done, but, heck, it's worth a shot.

As for the cheesegraters, you could try the usuals: junkyard, 5.0 resto, or ebay. I'm sure one of those three would have what you're lookin' for.

If I were you I just wouldnt get the pulleys all together. When I put mine on I had nothing but problems after that. They were like a jinx. And if you want a nice exhaust I would go with some MAC Headers w/ a MAC H pipe. It will sound loud but not too loud (considering you have a vert) and when you get on it they will have a nice tone to them.
