1993 Cobra

What's a good price for a 1993 Cobra? In fair condition?

I don't see many nice ones going for under $10k. $8-9k for decent seems still fair. Most nice fox bodies will fetch a minimum of $7k. There's a really nice red 93 cobra for sale locally for $10k.

Ok. I've got to fix my 01 cobra but I was thinking about getting a 93 for my son in the next few years. He is 11 now. I thought a 93 Cobra would be an awesome car when he turns 16 but I'm afraid I won't find any later on

Agree with AlsCobra, not many decent ones for less than $10K. In my area. '93's are getting rare. Good luck with the search

Check the 1993 Cobra Registry, there is a message board there where users sell and post 93 cobras for sale around the country.

Btw that would be the most kickass gift ever for a 16 year old.

Theres a lot of junk out there, as well as fakes… I've seen a bunch this year looking for my 93' and you'll be real lucky to find a decent Cobra under 10K. Unless your looking for something that needs a decent bit of work.

I've also unfortunately looked at too many Fox's where its obviously a 100k+ mile car somebody's trying to sell as a "survivor".

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I want to see what SVT is going to do with the 2015. If I do that then he will probably get my 01 Cobra if I don't get a new one I will find him a nice fox body to restore with him

In terms if fakes, is there a good way to tell if it's a legit cobra? Is the vin number reliable or are there other tricks? I'm well aware someone can make a 4 banger look just like 93 cobra and put in a 5.0 with cobra intake....might still be a sweet ride but it's not an authentic cobra...

Best way is the VIN#. 8th Digit will always be a "D" if its a Cobra. Otherwise its a fake.

I believe I also read that the 93 cobra had no option for cruise control,so if it's got cruise it's a fake.

That's true but a lot of people at that time went to Ford and had them install cruise control at the dealer. So there are real Cobras out there with it.

When you say there's fakes out there, are you referring to clones being sold as clones or clones being billed as authentic? I agree on the mileage too, I think you can usually tell if a car has 100K more than they're claiming based on the condition, but not always.....

I have come across a fake being advertised as real in the past. Once is enough for me to always check the VIN before anything else. But I also came across a 93' this past fall that was said to be this pristine low mileage survivor. Thing probably lived its life a quarter miles at a time if it was really only 20k miles.

Unfortunately there's way to many Fox bodies out there being advertised as something their not. Whenever you see an ad its always the typical BS copied and pasted or slightly reworded to fit their specific car. If your in the market for one, don't drive to far out of your way without first a VIN number and then a bunch of "recent" pictures. Not everyone is a liar but the ones who don't usually have the best for sale ads anyway.
