Does any one know what wheel options if any were available for 91 LX's?

I think only the 16" Pony's where available on the 5.0, with the 10-hole 15" for 4-cylinder LX's. But that may have been 1992, not 1991.

Either way on 87-93 Foxes LX's either had 15" 10-hole, or 16" Pony's in the later years.

Did the pony's only come in the standard aluminum from the factory or did they come painted from the factory?

There was a White option on 2 special edition 'verts (I think there were 2. One was triple white, and the other . ."7-up" 'vert I think had white wheels, but I may be wrong), and chrome on a yellow/black 'vert in 1993.

I can't seem to remember the color of the Pony's on the 7-up 'vert . ..

EDIT: I think I have the Strawberry 'vert and the 7-up 'vert mixed up!

Ok, because the LX I bought off of a guy in the summer has white pony wheels on it and I was wondering if the original owner could have purchased them from the factory or if they had to have been aftermarket.

I looked at a 92 special edition red convertible at dealer in 92 that had white ponies with a rear spoiler on its deck also.

All 1991 5.0 LX's came equipped with the silver painted/powdercoated "pony" or "5 star" wheels. The 1990 "7 up" edition verts had the 15" turbine wheels from the GT. In 1992 the Feature Convertible was Red and had pearl white "pony" wheels and in 1993 the Yellow feature convertibles had chrome pony wheels and the white feature convertibles had white pony wheels(not pearl).

Good stuff. I never knew there was a difference between the Pearl White Pony's and "Regular" White Pony's! Learn something new everyday.

I paid a lot of attention back then and did a lot of shopping...but never bought one(regret it now) and also being in the parts business helps too

So is it at all possible that my '91 LX came from the factory with the white ponies that are on it now or were they added or painted later by a previous owner?

No, there is no way, no how, impossible that your 91 LX came with white painted ponies. They were added later or painted by a previous owner....no grey territory here, it is cut and dry.
