1986 T-5
I am new to the forum, and I have looked at almost every topic trying to find the answers. Hopefully I just missed it and don't look stoopid missing it.
My wife gave me her blessing to start getting my car back into shape so I need to start soon before she finds other uses for my money!!
I have an '86 5.0 that needs the T-5 trans rebuilt before I can do anything. I do not plan on making this a track runner, just the toy I fell in love with 19 years ago. I do run it on the street on occaision, but not long and not often. I was just wondering what the best way to go is. Do I buy the performance gears, or is standard good enough for minor mods? Where is the best place to get them? With all the shifters out there...which would be best?
Thanks in advance!!

If you dont plan on racing the car, or modding it majorly (ie, adding alot of power) then just have it rebuilt to normal world class t5 specs. They hold up well unless abused. No since it upgrading to cobra specs really. You dont need it if you arent going to mod the car alot, and if you add a very large amount of power, you are going to need something better than a cobra spec'd tranny anyways.
