Wheel Ideas Thread
Here's a thread to share photos found of interesting and different wheel/tire combos (aka NO TORQUE THRUST PICS
).
I'll start with this one since there is always the question of how late model Cobra 2K wheels will look:

Wow! Very nice, love those Y2K R's.
I wonder if the fender flares are necessary to get those to fit?
Speaking of latemodel wheels, here's an unusual one. In the late 90's a company made 16" fox body "pony" wheels with the right offset and lug count to fit a classic Mustang.

And here's a pic of my buddy Pat's fastback. Funny thing is, I found this picture on the net while researching these wheels (which are now out of production
) and later met him at the local sonic. He lives about 5 blocks away from me.

I like these. They have the "classic" look.
Seriously, TT wheels look great on 67-68, and I really don't like that silver fastback. The car sits way too high with those huge wheels. Reminds me of a Cutlass running around town with 24s. What you're looking for is better, not different.

I don't have a pic with them installed, but I just bought these for my '65:

I could use some help determining what size tires to run. I'd like to lower it a bit more and I'd like to run a larger tire in the rear than in the front. I'm thinking 215/50-16 in the front and 225/50-16 in the rear, but haven't done any measuring yet. Any suggestions?

Speaking of Cutlass's with 24's, I saw one yesterday. Faded out silver paint with a torn burgandy Landau top and 24's. It was utterly ridiculous.

Are those the Meteors? They look like a billet stylized version of styled steel wheels.
Yeah, they're Meteors. I agree about the similarity to the style steel wheels, and I think they are to a somewhat lesser degree reminiscent of the old Halibrand Cobra wheels (is that my imagination?). They are unlike anything I've ever considered putting on my car, but they just seem to fit. I just need to determine what size tires to use.
