66 Hipo Fastback with "Pony" interior.
Best version of the original model, still a lightweight car with many different options available.

i saw a orange 69 Mach 1 on the highway awhile back.... it was so sexy!!!!

me and my dad were in his 5.0 and we pulled up next to him... and we stared at eachother. it felt kinda like that cadillac commerical. the one where the guy in the old one says "oh my god" and the guy in the new one says "oh my god"

67 Mustang without a doubt in my mind .. it was the best proportioned in my opinion. They got everything right that year. 68 was a close second.

1969

First year for the Mach 1 (I love Mach 1's), and Boss 302. Plus I just love the 69 body style.

i believe the 67 is the best by far. granted they didnt have the 302 which i love but they had all the best lookin body styles that year and furthermore it was the best looking body styles for most companies that year. a 67 gt riding down the road is just beautiful. 68 cali special is a close second.

I agree
the 1970 Boss 302 is one of the meanest looking mustangs
and the 1969 is right up there also. I chose the 1970 because it has appealed to me since I was a little boy.

The '69 of course is my favorite. Come on this year had more models than any other year Mustang ever. GT500, GT350, Mach1, Boss302, Boss429, Grande, and the last of the early GTs. The '69s are just awesome.
Not to mention I am a 69

For me; its about my birth year and its all about the Boss 429. I walked away from some nice tuned 66s and a stoker kit 70 but i was asked; would you still feel incomplete with out a 1969 ... yes I would.

so i waited and waited to get mine; and with prices being jacked up as they are; I think i got my 1969 mach 1 at a great price.

but in all ... mustangs are fun cars no matter what year they are made in and I think this site does a wounderful job in representing the whole history of this muscle car and has greatly helped me in understanding some facts as I shopped around for years.

I like the 68"s. Love the body style & the interior. Have to like the engines available for that year also (289, 302, 428). Not to forget the specialty cars like the california special.
