I went by the paint store earlier to pick up some other stuff and was going to price the black to redo my engine bay while it's apart and couldn't remember the number for this stuff.

Also, acrylic enamel or acrylic urethane?

If you want to spray with a gun, use DP40 as a primer, then follow with DAR9000 with DX685 flattner mixed to the 685 spec sheet for eggshell. Otherwise, you can use straight DDL-9423. (At least that's what Charles Turner said once upon a time)

Of course, most of us cheat and use DP90(?) black epoxy primer for a hard finish, then good old Krylon 1613 for the "correct" satin finish and EASY touchups!

I agree with Cloney. I have Krylon 1613 on the 65 and I can do touchups. On the Shelby, I have some specially mixed paint that is supposed to be an "exact" match. I can't touch it up with anything. I may pull the engine and redetail the entire engine compartment with Krylon so I can match it.

Also, with the DP90, you'll have to use DP90LF (Lead Free). I've seen it turn a little "chaulky". For a driver, I'd use Krylon. Use the other stuff if you are doing a trailered car or thouroughbred.

Back to the Krylon again then.

BTW, the paint I was talking about is 9295.
