What I've started to see it as is that these are the cars that are preserved for the next generation. These are the ones that we don't have to worry about them going up in flames or hitting a barricade or that sort of thing, and they will still be there when all the others are gone. I'm sure that they don't all just sit there, since I'm fairly sure that I've heard that the museum is often reorganized and new things come in and out, so they probably get their legs stretched now and then.
