I just put new carpet in my 68 coupe. After installing the shifter cover on the floor, the selector light does not line up with the gear the transmission is in. Example; light indicates it is in drive, when the transmission is actually in neutral. I thought that the shift plate was on wrong, but it only can be installed one way. By the way, it's a c-4. Anyone have a similar problem?

 

Mine is kinda like that, but its not a full gear off though...sometimes the light goes off even...in my experiance, the shifter has a little play in it, even when in gear, so all I do is line up the light when I get it in gear, and it looks fine....
