Alternator tested good. Any other ideas what could have caused a car to shut off?

I just had this happen on my 68 fast back and here is a list of everything I check or replaced. Mine just so happened to be a couple of things

Starter
Alternator
Ignition switch
Solenoid
Fuses
Battery terminals clamped tight
Wire from battery to grounding bolt
Wire from battery to solenoid
Both wires from solenoid to starter and ignition switch

No problem. So before I help you try and diagnose it, have you tried jumping the solenoid? If you don't know what I mean, let me know and ill walk you through it or you can google it. It's a very easy thing to do, all you need is a screw driver but let me know

I did try jumping it. Turned out the starter wasn't engaging the flex plate? And it needed a new regulator. Thanks for the help guys. I think the tow truck guy was wrong about the fluid in my original post.

It is up and running again with no mechanical issues for now.

Now I just need to get the headlights working. Any ideas how to test the switch? Or should I just buy a new one and hope that works.

Start a new thread for the headlights and make sure you have a 12V test light!
