I went to order my TORQ THRUST II WHEELS today, but my car has 4 lugs and the wheels only come in 5 lugs.
So I have picked these out they will custom drill the wheels, they are Billet Specialties Vintec.
The sizes the wheel shop recomended are 15x7 (4 inch backspace) for the front. For the back 16x8 (5 1/4 backspacing).

What do you think about the wheels and sizing?

Thanks

nice, but you wont be able to rotate tires front to rear or vice versa.

Ehh..not a big fan of the large center cap, but if you like um, go ahead. Can't rotate them, but not a big deal, you probably dont drive it 20,000 miles a year.

he can't use the SS wheels, he has 4 lugs. he would have to convert the suspension over to 5 lug, so it would not be cheaper. it would be better to convert to 5 lug and discs but it's not my car

I say wait on the wheels and do a disc brake conversion to 5 lugs instead rather than staying with the 4 lugs. If you want different wheels, I like the rally look too

Donna,

Is your car a 6 banger? Just curious because if not then you may have bigger problems than finding 4 lug rims. Just curious.

  What do you mean by that? I OWN a 5.0 Fox with 4 lug pony star wheels. The pony wheels were not stock on 87s, but neither were 5 lug wheels. :bang: :bang:
The 5 lug wheels got lost in foxes until 1995, IIRC

6 cylinders and 4 cylinders all had 4 lug until 1 of the fox years......you said you had a 5.0.....5.0 is not a 6.

Pakrat, Yes I have a 6 cyl. I just bought the car and dont know much about it or any other car for that matter. Just always wanted a classic mustang and finally found one I could afford.
I would like to switch it to a five lug but have know idea about what I need to do.
The guy I buy my wheels from, said it would be cheaper and easier to sell my car and buy one with 5 lugs.
But thats not really option for me.
I have decided not to go with the wheels I posted (mainly because I got no positive responce after posting the pictures of the wheels, and for 1,200.00 just for wheels, I needed some postive renforcement).

Thanks, to everyone for your comments and advise.

Good choice,Donna,....wait ,save your money till you can do it right. Keep the classic car with a classic car look(classic car rims) such as TT D's or Rally

Yes, my 5.0 is not a 6, whew, you got THAT correct...

Your original statement IMPLIES (by use of the word "until") that WHEN the "fox body years" came around, Ford changed from 4 lug to 5 lug system based upon engine size!

And now you're changing your statement to include 4 cylinders. :bang: :bang:

I need more drugs!
