Anybody have any ideas and/or pictures of some neat plug wire routings?

Right now, I'm using the late-model "wide" cap and black Ford Racing wires routed over the valvecover.....

I'm leaning toward using a 94/95 hard plastic cap cover and some of the black vertical wire looms. This would cover the bundle of worms at the cap, and run the wires down the front and sides, thereby exposing the "purty" valvecovers...

IDEAS?

I'm interested in the same thing... I've never liked my "layin' where they want" style of routing!

To do it cleanly you MUST go in front of the covers and not over them. I personally don't think the disti covers make it any cleaner if you make your own wires and do it cleanly.

It also requires buying 2 packs of whatever seperators you are using to do it better.

Don't have any pics now for you though ... I just went from Crane wires to Taylor this summer since the Crane's pulled apart when I removed them.

Another MUST is black wires.

That is all.

Exclamation

Kale Auto (http://www.kalecoauto.com/) has the best spark plug wires around. Check them out on the Tune-Up page. Get the chrome ones. They have some other things available to help increase the performance of a car. Make sure to check them out....

I've already got most of their performance items. Been thinking about trying the new O-pipe, as it's supposed to be superior to the X-pipe.

Wonder if they have NOS tire air for you concours guys?

You could put on wireless wires. They could send an RF signal from the cap to the plug then you wouldn't have to worry about them covering your VCs.

It says that the Air Filter Bypass Kit is not for use on domestic cars, or cars using an exhaust tip less than a three inch diameter. Did you add a fart cannon to that washing machine?

And, FYI, you only have to use NOS tire air on bias ply tires. For us concours guys who use radials, we can just the regular tire air.

I have those same wire looms. They work very well if you don't have other items towards the front of the engine. I am talking about the ac compressor in particular.

For an out-of-the-box idea... route them straight out the side nearest their post and run back between the cover and carb. at the back of the engine, finally run them to the cylinder behind the valve cover and down the outside of the cover from back to front. Some wires will be really long, but you'll not have any visibly crossed wires... just a thought (requiring some really long wires). Use one of the old-fashioned marine caps...

Well, here's what I did for now.... Really "cleans up" the tops of the valvecovers.
Note that the new bolts are in place, and the horns have been moved inside the engine compartment also.

Bob, looks great but I can't tell from the picture whether or not you went with the vertical loom kit as you mentioned in your first post. If so, I'm sold

Yes, those are the black vertical looms.

Forgot a picture that shows them a little better... They replace 3 of your valvecover bolts.

What Taylors are those? Also, the cobra cover... did you slice it for the vacuum? Just and emblem you put on it?

Wires are Taylor 76058. They are listed as "over valvecover 5.0 custom fit" (no cutting/crimping), but worked just fine in this arrangement as well. Ran about $50 a year or so ago.

The cover had to be trimmed about 1/4" around the vacuum advance. It came with a black/silver Cobra Snake emblem in the center, but it was covered by the aircleaner. The emblem that's on there is actually a 66 Shelby wheel center cap sticker I had laying around. Not sure if it will stay or not...
