Got a tip the other day about an old Mustang sitting rotting in a field....took a trip yesterday to see it, turned out to be very rough...BUT it's a 67 Fastback "S" code (390) manual transmission car. Picked it up for $80.....like I said...VERY rough but anything is rebuildable and given what the car is it will be rebuilt . I'll take some pics tomorrow...it's sitting on the trailer outside now.

Missing front end and driver door...has RH door with glass and back window, originally Springtime Yellow with black standard interior...drivetrain, rear end and front suspension missing. Rear interior panels still there, seats still there. Needs just about everything but hey....it's a fastback

Nice Find! If that car would have been in a field up north . . I bet the darn thing would have been too far gone.

Wow I can only dream of the day I do that.

allthough it will probably be a rusted out 05.

If I found a 67 fastback s code for $80 I would drive to the bank to get my money and pull the car home with my bare hands if I had to.
nice find and good luck

Really? I've got a '68 date coded 390 and C6 coming out of my 69 Cyclone sometime this year Runs perfectly, just putting the correct 351W and FMX back in it .

Here are the pics....like I said, she's rough.....but the Eleanor crazy would probably pay $2K or more for it as witnessed on ebay. I can promise that this car will NOT become an Eleanor(unless someone offers stupid money for it that can't be refused ) :nono:

You just don't find 67's or 8's laying around in fields or barns any more....

Although I did spot a 65 Fastback on the same road while picking this one up ....I'll go back to check on it....

and I will probably be picking up a '71 Mach 1 in the next week or so....

They ARE still out there, you just have to look and develop that "sense" needed to weed them out of the scenery

Good save!

That does look rough, but thanks to the aftermarket, as long as you have the roof, it's possible. Considering that it's that far gone, and has no driver door w/ data plate, I'd personally find it very difficult not to hot rod the heck outta that car.

Heep us posted!

Thanks! This car actually belongs to a friend of mine, I hauled it in to the shop. Inside the shop is MY '67 GT project..which is rust free but dented from years living in Mexico. Both the '67s will be Restomods.....mine will get a 351 stroked to 427 with EFI and a 5 speed(unless a future budget indicates I can opt for a 6 speed)...painted the original Dark Moss Green and done up as a shelby GT500(NOT ELEANOR!!!!!). This most recent arrivals destiny of look has yet to be determined but he is also leaning toward a Shelby clone(NOT ELEANOR!!!!) .

I'm not afraid of any project....it's just a car and everything is available but the roof and transmission tunnel. I've got a full service shop with paint booth so anything can be restored

Gosh, I would love to have that car, if a person can weld for themselves, it is a great buy. Congrats. Believe it or not it is less work and a much better value than the car I am restoring for a friend of mine, a 67 coupe that was originally a 6 cylinder, and he paid muuuuuuuuuch more for it than 80 bucks. http://www.classiccorral.com/67coupe.html

PS. You can now get a set of floor pans complete with tranny tunnel.
