Run Flat Tires
Simple question ...
Has any had expierence installing Run Flat Tires on their classic?
I have found the right size for my Mach 1 ( 245 - 17 - 45 ) but I noticed in the information on tirerack.com that you need a monitoring system on your car. My old C5 vette had them ... i did not get a flat but i appreciate the benefit of having them. One of course not needing to carry a full size spare in the back.
I plan to approach some " professionals " on this subject but I would like to hear your thoughts too.
thanks

Technicaly you don't need monitors but you would want them casue you would never know if you had a flat or not.
Run flats suck though...they way more then a standard tire and the handling isn't as good as a equal sticky regular tire.

The ride is craptacular due to the increased stiffness of the sidewalls, A problem I hear alot of Goodyear installers had when they rolled out EMT tires as replacements on non runflat cars.
