Progress, progress, progress.......

Busy weekend with mowing, bathing the dogs, spreading insect killer and working on the Mustang. I managed to finish my front floorpan and one of my quarter panel patches. The big patch they sent me is a piece of poo and won't line up so I've got to either buy another one or find a way to fit this one.

Anyway, on to the peekshures!!!

Fixed the rust hole in the rear fender

BEFORE

DURING

AFTER

no more Fred Flintstoning!

This thing doesn't fit worth a poo.

Other stuff I've done...

Left trunk floor

Good effort, I could never find the time to do the work needed to my '72

Keep it up and let us know when you have it back on the road again.

I don't see any seam sealer on the floor patches. Should seam seal top and bottom.

Why does that trunk picture look doctored?

Something happened during the upload and it left a line across it.

Yeah, seam seal anywheres possibly needed. If not you'll regret later, oh, and have you looked into ordering another patch, that one does seem awfully sloppy.

Loving the Pop-To-The-Top feature here. Too bad everyone doesn't use it. Instead of making a whole new post for this, I will just update my old one and BINGO it's back at the top.

Started working on the car this morning at 9:00. I was bound and determined to get that rear quarter patch to fit and I'll be damned if I didn't. I had to section it some at the rear to narrow it a little and also at the front to shorten it but it's in. The welds aren't pretty but the body filler will take care of that problem.

Rear section

Front section

Tacked up

Welded in

Primed

and the always tricky lip

Hey, nice job there. And a little body fill will make it all look right. Keep it up, looking forward to completion, Nathan

That's looking really good. It's nice to see the transformation in one post. Looks like it is coming together.

For others' reference how much time do you have invested so far? Have you done this type of work before?

Looks good. Glad to see you were able to make the patch work. When shall I schedule your booth time?

Time invested in just welding? Close to 60 hours so far. Over 50 of that just in the front floor pan and the trunk floor. They were the first welding that I have ever done so I kept going back to fill and grind PLUS I cut both pieces a little too much and had to make some patches to fill in.

Time invested in the whole project? I bought the car in '93, put in the engine and transmission and didn't do much else until the complete teardown in 2000. Going on 4 years for the rebuild. :bang:

That really is dedication. You will feel like a million dollars when it is back on the road looking pristine. Well done

Let's see......

I still have to put in the patch in the driver's door, finish the cowl, fill the rest of the dings and block it all out. Is November/December too cold in your booth?
