My 69 is in dire straits these days. I have big plans for it but I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I have several projects that include

1. Re-wiring the car

2. Motor needs new heads

3. Body is starting to show some rust in the driver door and has several scratches thanks to my 2 kids.

4. Plus there are a million other little things like the dash gauges not working, shifter is really loose, tranny has not been rebuilt in the last 7 years, the rear end seals both leak as well and it has 4 whel drum brakes!!!

So my wife says I should have her put the car in for the show. What do you guys think of all that?

On one side it sounds awesome. On another, I'm not so sure what they would do to my ride.....

I should have some pics to post in the next day or two, they are in development now....

I thought of that also. Would they fix it like I wanted. I think if you gave enough pics to your wife to show what you want and she could convey that thought to them, then maybe.

But like Jay said, you would have to convince them you don't know about it.

Not interested. It's the journey, not the destination. You can buy a finished car, and learn nothing in the process.

Could not have said it any better.

You aren't located in the LA area, so they most likely wouldn't do it anyway.

I do love the show though.

They are currently taking applications to be on it. And it doesn't give a location requirement. It was looking for apps for the Las Vegas area when I was on the site as well.

As for me not kowing about it? I could get an Oscar for "not knowing" about it...

Don't get me wrong though. I enjoy doing the work and all. I have rebuilt 2 Classics so far. I am just a bit short of $$$ and time with a wife and kids these days. And I miss driving my baby!!!!

Yeah, I was just basing that on experience. I've seen every episode, and with one exception (Where they did the build at Wyoming Tech for a guy that works at... Wyoming Tech, they have all been in the L.A. area.

I was wondering about that myself. But there deffinately is not a stated requirement, only that the car needs to be moveable so they can "steal" it.

When it specifically requested Las Vegas, I got to wondering if there are shops out there requesting the show to restore a car there for the exposure? Just a thought.

Anyway. I think I will let my wife send it in and see what happens. You never know right?

They also have applications going on for shops to host the show around the country. They are hitting the road in the upcoming episodes/seasons.

I am just a bit short of $$$
Then you'd better save up for the taxes they'll hit you with... It may be free; but it's not without costs!
