need help with xmas gift.

this gift is for my father. he used to own a 68 mustang fastback gt with a 302. he owned it when he was a teen and had to sadly get rid of it. anytime we talk about cars that mustang comes up. now im in no position to buy him the mustang. so i have resorted to the next best thing. i bought a model. its actually a 67 mustang fastback. granite its not a 68 but i think its close enough. now for my problem and were i need some help with. my dad does not have any pics of his old car. what can i say it was back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and he was a teen at the time, last thing on his mind of to take a pic of his car. i wont say what he was doing at that time. but for those people that grew up back then im sure you can figure out. anyways, so im trying to find some pics of a 68 mustang fastback gt, he said its was like an olive green kind of color, with the black "c" stripe. i want to paint this model like his old car and give it to him for an xmas gift. sorry for the long post. and i do appreciate your help bringin and big smile and possibly a tear an ole mans eyes. thank you.

Hey man, welcome to the site. I'd be glad to help you out. Check the "timeline" section of the site at the top menu bar...I'll link you to it from here.

I'm guessing it looked just like this, only in either Lime Gold or Lime green Metallic...

....Also....look around for a '68 fastback model....or maybe even a dyecast. There are subtle differences from the 67 to the 68....you may think close enough, but if your dad loved this mustang as much as you say, he'll know the difference... and I'd say there is no sence in cutting corners when you have already put so much thought into this gift.
