My old 1965 got wrecked.
Here:
My old car in ~1971
It got wrecked in 1972 by an uninsured driver. Not my fault, and I sure got the DUI test which I easily passed. I never drink and drive.

You should have seen the other car!
I replaced parts and painted the car in my garage..It went to red later but another thread.
The guy that I hit at 100+ Mph is a friend. He had a parts failure in a bad place. It's called a racing incident.

My first '65 car went to the salvage yard. I did keep one hubcap that was on the car. It went rolling down the road so I caught it. I still have it on the wall of my man-cave (it's really an unfinished basement.).

The blue 1965 car is a different history.
I fixed the car myself in my garage. The replacement parts were easy to find (made in Taiwan). I painted the car myself. It was a two-tone blue racing 1965 Mustang.
I got lucky in business. I hired a good guy to spray the entire car.in Mustang color Race Red. I found a used rear bumper.
It was fast and most important very reliable. It may not be the fastest in qualifying, but it finished all races when a Chevy didn't wreck me.

This was at Sebring when the old 1965 Mustang, and the old driver was doing well:
The last point before the car needed to go left.,
Some turns seem good and most not so good. This was good.

This car won 26-straight podiums.
.
And here
It was a lot of work and money so I took two years off. I co=drove another car. My magic period was done.
It was over for my car.
I co-drove another car .Here:
We got a win at Watkins Glen, but I was never comfortable in the car.
