My New 1970 Mach 1 - Pitcha Perfect

Nice Mach 1
I have a 65 Fastback, and now am working on a 1970 red Mach 1. Just wondering where you took that pic of your old 65' with the P-51 in the background. Awesome. I might even drive out there, just for the photo op.

Thanks for the info
Thanks. That would be a long trip in a 65' from Nebraska to California. I guess I will have to find a P-51 near by. I have owned my 65' fastback since 1971. My uncle drove it to Las Vegas from Omaha in 1968. I remember he said he made it in 17 hours. I would not even attempt the trip in that car now, even though it is in better condition right now.
I agree your Mach needs the magmun 500's. But I still have not warmed up to the 18" look. The Mach I am restoring has 14" magmuns and they even look good. I am going to keep them. But 15's would be better. I want to see a pic of a Mach with 18's also.
And driving the 70' compared to the 65' is like night and day. The 70' just feels sleeker and handles the one lane hiway curves better. I don't know what it is about the Mach, but it makes you feel fast. You feel like part of the car. But I will never give up the 65 Fastback.

Personally, I am starting to lean towards not changing the wheels at all. Everyone and their nieghbor has magnums on their 69+ stang. I like the plain wheel look
But hey, whatever makes you happy. And if you do go with the Magnums, I'd so go for the 18s, if you like that look. I've seen it and think it looks rather nice

You might want to think about rear window slatts and spoiler. I think it makes for a meaner look. Can you document that yours came from the factory without the spoiler. I think back to 1970 and can not remember any without the spoiler. Maybe I just did not pay attention.
