He has owned this '65 Fastback since 1980. It has no rust what so ever. About ten years ago he had it repainted silver blue which is the original color code. Also at that time we decided to make it in to a gt. so on went the stripes, rims, emblems, and such. Well we never did the pony interior until now. Sad thing is, is that two xmas eve's ago there was a bad hail storm and he didnt have a garage.....The whole outside has dents everywhere, so they all need to be fixed and the car needs repainted.

But anyways here are some pics I took today

Here is the console we have started to paint

Here is what color the oiginal interior was

Here is the seat base Taken Apart

With the new foam

Here is the drivers seat done

A shot of the interior gutted

Shot of the dash waiting for paint

Here are some pics of my dads car

and one last shot of my car and my dads.

Blake i love your fastback. i myself am looking for a 65 or 66 convertible.

I want to paint it silver blue and have the same interior as my dad so we can have matching cars. it would be cool to go to car shows with him and have our cars looking the same.

Sean, looks great! Pony interior is one of the greatest things about the early Mustangs. Tell me you didn't paint that in the house, you are in sooo much trouble!

No we didnt paint the console in the house, we did it on the back porch on top of lots of plastic. We couldnt leave it outside because where my dad lives there are lots of stray cats and racoons and stuff like that. It would have been fun to paint it in the house....just to see my stepmom yell.

Thanks Sean!

That sounds like a great plan. The silver blue with blue/white pony interior is definately one of the best color combinations there is. B)

Yeah the trumpets do stick out to far and the drivers side bracket broke so once we get the inside finished its back to the outside to fix all the hail damage and prep it for paint again. So I think we should be able to fix the trumpets at that time.
