Mustchero Project Concept-What do you think?
I know it's been done before, turning a Mustang into a Ranchero style vehicle, but here's my idea. I have a '66 6 cylinder couple that's been sitting in the weeds for years. The roof has lots of bondo from an old repair and it's hit in the rear, so it's a perfect candidate to be modified. First I want to move the roof forward so the quarter window is part of the door glass. Then lengthen the wheelbase to get the proportions right, I'm thinking rear sub-frame with a narrowed 9" (already have) with ladder bars and coil overs and wheeltubs, will have to use a couple of quarter skins to build the sides, and then build the inside of the bed. There's a lot of drivetrain possibilities, but will drop a 6 back in it to mobilize the project. Lots of cutting, grinding, welding, body filler....to come. Let me know what you think. Let me gather a few tools: sharpie, sawzall, plasma cutter...where's that hammer! kennyg

Yes, I saw it through alot of it's 10 year build. Eddie (God rest his soul) did an enormous amount of work to it including a truck frame. As recall his bed is seperate from the 'cab'. I want to keep the uni-body theme and make the roofline appear stock. kennyg

Check out this pic of a station wagon. I found this pic several years ago. I think Ford made a prototype and since then I think Merv down in Florida built one.

I've seen those wagons before..........

In my opinion i think it is just horrible looking. I saw one like that and it had like a whole truck bed for the rear.
