Mustang Fever!!!!!
Hey everybody,
I'm new here to the forum, do let met introduce myself. I'm Michael from South Carolina. I do not own a mustang at the moment, but if u noticed my title....i WANT one. My favorite car is the 1970 year model, but I have ran across a very desirable 69 model. It is a mach 1 cobra jet, numbers matching, 4 speed car. It needs some body work, but overall it's extremely solid and straight. He wants 22 for it, does that sound reasonable? The engine has been taken out and rebuilt. Now I have been told that the cobra jet engines do not like our new gas. I have been told with enough use, it will eat a hole in the top of the piston. Had anybody had this problem and know how to correct it? Thanks for the help and wish met luck with Mustsng Fever!!!!

If it is an original CJ (especially an R-code) it is definitely worth $22k. One "condition" is the originality and if all the extra equipment is included (shaker, smog, etc).
I think the issue with gas (unleaded vs leaded) can easily be fixed by replacing the valve seats (brass) in your heads. Do a search, there are specifics in a few different threads.
My $.02 the '69 CJ mach is easily one of the most desirable Mustangs and much better looking than a '70...IMHO.
