Nah, if I put the 66 dash in, then I have to change to 66 quarter windows... The 65 center pod then becomes an issue if I have real gauges in the dash too.

I ended up keeping the leather wheel. The wood Lecarra is on Ebay.

66 quarter windows? WTH? Is there a difference or are you being facetious?

65 Shelby used the mustang "vents".
66, they cut out the vents and went with windows.

I can't tell you how many "experts" tell their girlfriends that my car isn't a "Shelby" just because it doesn't have the windows....

Oh....THOSE quarter windows. :bang: Sorry, I had a brainfart and couldn't figure out what you were talking about. I was apparently focused on a coupe.

On third thought, I guess you should keep with the "theme".

IMO the wood looks awesome. The leather has almost a, sorry in advance, "ricy" look. If you had the leather wheel with those chrome spokes like the wood, it wouldnt be so bad. Oh, and if your running manual steering, do you notice a difference between wheel sizes. The 15" would be easier to steer...

The leather and wood both have the same polished aluminum spokes. Terrible picture of the leather one - but they are just as "shiny". Hard to get good pictures at night, in the garage, with a flash (on a cheap camera) , and the car still 1/2 under a cover!

I actually found the leather 14" easier to steer than the wood 15", because you could grip it easier. That, and the extra clearance were part of my reasoning to go the direction I did.

Human nature - we ALWAYS believe that the latest piece of "bling" we purchased is somehow superior to the one it's intended to replace!

Actually, I'm afraid that I'm getting bored with the car, and changing things just for the heck of it. Guess I need to find a rich "Uncle Vinnie" who is just DYING to own a clone, so I can turn around and buy that 69/70 GT350.....

I share this condition. Might have to make a big change myself.

Sounds like an episode of "Trading Spaces" in the works - we could line up some sponsors to buy all the parts and really up each other's car!

Back to the gauge cluster for a monment. Since the housings are available on
E Bay that accomodate aftermarket gauges you could install that cluster without potential duplication of the gauges in the pod. Maybe oil temp instead of oil pressure?
