It's alive, IT'S ALIVE!
As most of you know, after spending from Oct 03 to April 04 rewiring my car (Not just replacing harnesses, but actually designing and wiring from scratch an elaborate [read overkill] electrical system) and adding a bunch of stuff I toasted a hydraulic line for my clutch after only 2 weeks of driving (due to the new clutch master cylinder I installed). So, since I needed to remove the trans and all that fun stuff to replace the hydraulic line I though I would do some "while I'm at its". Here is a list of all the things done since April in addition to the removal and replacement of the engine, trans, and related stuff:
Rebuilt hydraulic throwout bearing
Converted the hyd bearing from banjo fittings to elbow fittings
Modified scattershield by adding a bulkhead plate so that external lines could be replaced without removing everything.
Had 4 new hydraulic lines made and rerouted them AWAY FROM THE HEADERS!
Had scattershield powder coated
Installed new Flaming River steering box
Rebuilt entire column tube with new seals, bearings, turn sig switch
Had column tube and shift light braket powder coated
Installed roller bearing quick steer kit
Converted pedal assembly to full roller bearing
Installed competition cross member from Cobra automotive
Converted from mechanical to electronic speedometer and added pulse sender to trans.
New roller pilot bearing
New rear main seal
New oil pan and gasket
Changed out 2 chamber Flowmasters for 3 chamber delta flow Flowmasters
Flanged connection at rear of each muffler so complete center section from connection at header to after mufflers can be removed as 1 piece
Had headers ceramic coated in chromex
Had X-section and mufflers ceramic coated black
Had tail section ceramic coated black (technically still in the works)
Replaced inserts on my Earls header flange gaskets and collector gaskets
Installed better drive shaft loop
Installed billet distributor hold down (ya, ya, I know bling bling, so stuff it)
Installed billet aluminum timing pointer (see comment above)
Well, after all this time and all this work I tried to fire it up the other day. Nothin. Checked my Optima and it had 10.3 volts. YIKES! I put it on the charger for 7 hours and checked it again. This time 10.48 volts. CRAP! Order new Optima and it is on it's way. So, I today I pull the battery from my truck and temporarally rig it in the car. Crank it a few times and ROAR, back to life she sprang. So far no leaks, no vibrations, no problems, but it is still up on jack stands. I plan on bleeding the hydraulic throw out bearing this weekend and taking her for a shake down drive.
Hopefully I can get to updating my site with some of these projects (roller bearing pedal assembly and exhasut coating is already up), and I really need to put up all the pics and explanations of my electrical system project and all that entailed. It really is quite looney.

Sounds great, and most of us can understand this disease we all suffer from. Is your electrical system like that guy's house on Monster Nation that is completely controlled by touch tone dialing. He calls extension 25 and his refrigerator opens, extension 73 brings up an elevator from the basement, extension 69 and the bed to his hidden bedroom in the basement folds down
