Instrument panel resto questions for 70

I have the panel all pulled apart to clean out 40 years of dust etc... Needles have been touched up, lenses are either cleaned or will be replaced and gauges are clean and ready.

What use to be chrome is now the wonderful dingy yellow. My questions are as follows

1. do I send the housing off to have it rechromed or is there an eaiser way to achieve a similar look that does not look horrible?

2. if I send it off does any one have any suggestions where to send it?

any and all suggestions are welcomed.

thank you in advance

Chris

I think sending it off to get it proffesionally done is going to be more trouble than it's worth unless it is important for you to keep it original, I ordered a '67 brushed aluminum Shelby style for mine that came with everything but the heater controlls and the actual gauges and it only cost around $300 it looks great. I have no idea what it would cost to get them (your original parts) refurbished though.

Patients I have. How does it hold up over time? Being on the instrument panel I do not see it taking vey much punishment just wondering if I will need to be extra careful when detailing out before a show etc...

Thank you for the info.
