i need help quick!

Just now i heard a binding/knocking noise coming from the floor near the tranny. I thought it may be the front U-joint going out but when engage the clutch it stops. What could this be?

My first guess would be the throw out bearing. Unfortunately, there's no way to get to that without trany removal.

But you wanted to put a new clutch in there anyway, right?
