I just got home and went to the parts store and all they had were joints for autos. I know the front and rear are different but what is so different about MT to AT. Can i use the ones for AT?

The difference is going to be in the rearend/yolk you have. You are replacing the front right? Take the old one with you, that's the important thing to match to correct size you have on there.

now i have not replace the front one yet. The front one is fine, the rear is the one that snapped on me. Are the rear and front the same size cause i was thinking about taking the front one out and taking it to the parts store and measuring them

Ford u-joints are either 1310 or 1330. 1330 being the larger of the two and usually only used with 9" rear ends. BTW, not all 1310's/1330's are the same. This is very important. I just went through this with my aluminum driveline.

If you can't bring in the ujoint, you need to get the diameter and length of the ujoint of each side. Also, I would recommend that you replace both if you going to do it. Besides what's 12.00 bucks anyway...It's got to be worth someone time.
