bad news....the larger tires look stupid...They look like truck tires! They look really cool from a dead profile look....but man...they are just so tall that when you see tham at an angle, the height makes them look skinnier...so back to the drawing board. My last option is to get another brand of tire...Bf Goodrich offers my size...but would my car look more stupid the way it is now, or with mismatched tires? I would have the Dunlops on front, and BFGs on the rear... opinions?
I can get a wider BFG for the rear...as wide as 245...(225 on right now)...but buying 4 BFGs is out of the question...too much $$. And I can always get the fronts chagned to match when they either wear out or when I get money to replace them. Thats what I'm thinking right now...but I'm open to better ideas

like I said...they were just so big of a side wall.....looked really good from the side....but the hight made them look skinny from an angle...looked big and puffy, like it should be on a dump truck....I'm exadurating, but I'm just trying to get you a picture of what it looks like...and I'm at work now with no camera phone.
This is not a pic of my tires....but to give you an idea of the difference....its kinda like this...Think "floatation"

ok....I think I've made up my mind....
I'm going to get two 245/60/R14 BF Goodrich T/A's for the rear. I dont' think people will notice...and I think I'll be able to live with it. I'll get my 60 series tire back and gain a lot of rubber width at the same time. If no one changes my mind, I'm going to do this as soon as my tire shop can get the tires in on order.

Cody - how are the upper control arm bushings? I ask because my 1st car was a '67 Ranchero (390 V8) that I had to replace the UCA bushings on.....seems Ford just inserts a threaded plug instead of a grease zert that will allow you to keep them lubed and not have to replace them. Ever hear the "squeek, squeek" on an older Ford when you push down on the front bumper....chances are that's what you are hearing. You probably already have done this but if you look up into the spring tower at the sides of the upper control arm bushing area you will see the plugs...fairly easy to remove and reinstall a threaded grease zert.

just make sure you put 90 degree fittings in or you'll never get a grease gun on it.

"Tiregate" Update:
I'm going to keep them. They are growing on me day by day. I figure I reacted the way I did because I was so use to seeing those 60's that the 70 looked huge....but it looks pretty good..I like it now.
