I can never tell if they're real!
So I'm on ebay for something or other and stumble across this.

Looks too good to be true, and you know what they say...
But, something just doesn't look right. I checked the timeline section and it confirmed what I was thinking, aren't the wheels/tires on real boss 302s much more tucked in than this supposedly documented car??
By the way, they say this documented car has a factory Boss replacement block!!!! What the heck does that mean. :nono:

well...I dont want to make sompething out of nothing, but they really try to make the car sound Extra rare with all of the delivery documents and whatever, but, that doesnt mean that it is anything better than a Boss 302. I mean, if the numbers match up, ITs a boss, and you cant take that away, they just want some extra money for the old papers. Car isnt even that clean, youd probably have to put another $5-$7000 in it to make it a show car....maybe more.
hmmm ... something about the BOSS 302 name on the stripe is night quite right ... i dont know. Its a hard plunge when you are looking at a boss; even when the numbers are right .... you just dont know. I always say that uncle sam made me skip out on the Boss 429 I almost bought
to tell the truth ... there was not real way to prove that car infront of me was the real thing. I kick my self now but .. I am no expert and I did not hire a professional to identify it. Maybe I should have.

A couple of cosmetic things are off about the car.
There's no lettering or pinstripe on the trunk lid. The bezel around the tail lights should be blacked out on the surface but grey on the inside. The stripe is sitting slightly higher than it should be.
It looks legit enough, but little things like that make it look like a rushed job just to sell it. Have to wonder about the condition of the remainder of the car and where else corners were cut.
Just found his "additional pictures" link while typing this. Take a look. There's a reason they're not in his listing.

well bosses never had hood pins. has the wrong rear valance. should be regular not tip cutouts. no smog or rev limiter. wrong radiator. whoever put the stripes on should be shot!
REALLY RUSTY underneath...... hmmm crazy

Looks like a quicky paintjob to try to get a premeum when selling.
Is it just me or does the front brakes look like drums? i thought the boss had front discs

Looks like a barn car someone slapped some paint on.
i think its amazing that we are paying 30K for a car that has that many things that are wrong with it. i mean i'm not saying its not worth it.......just crazy for the work that needs to be done to it.
