Yes, unless you're sleeving the pistons but when you "bore out" the heads you are having them machined to fit a bigger piston for more power potential.

Not that you could offer something constructive to say, right?

Lol I find it funny you confirmed his question when you didn't know what tour talking about

Also. You don't bore a block for power.. you don't gain much from boring.
You bore because the cylinder wall is messed up and you need it to be fixed by boring it out a bit.

See Trent, even when you're coming off abrasive you're still insightful. Thanks buddy!

Porting the heads has nothing to do with the pistons so no

What are your goals with your motor exactly? Are you running a 289?

you don't have to change the pistons. I have stock ported and polished E7 heads with gt40 valves. I also a FRPP E cam all on the stock bottom end. Better than stock ( yes noticeable)although given up some to an aluminum headed motor, my heads flow GT40 #'s ( not P). I also have a ported/polished intake all done by Tom Moss. Decking the heads would change compression but this can be changed by different thickness head gaskets. Just like texastboneking stated boring the bottom end doesn't amount to much, a "306" isn't really any more powerful than a "302" with the same parts.

So... I could just port my heads and put a new cam without changing anything else?
Thank you.

I upgraded mine but like stated depends on the cam specs but since the stock springs are just about rated for the stock cam specs I put the springs on the list. for the street you are going to be looking at just under or around a .500 lift cam with about .224 or so of duration I would think, that would be on par with most mild street cams and offer a quality bumpy idle.
