Look like crappola if you really want my opinion. Seriously, you need metal where metal was, this Whizco stuff is just cheap and gawdy looking ... Wonder if Bob ever installed that pillar gauge setup that aims at the passenger?

Personally I'd stay away from products sourced from that company not just on fit/finish but also on history...

A valued opinion is what I was looking for.

There wasn't much metal in that area though.

Are there other options for the 6 guage panel besides JME or Haneline? Haneline appears to be the same ABS as the ebay ones but they throw on an engine turned aluminum panel and jack the price to $180.

I wouldn't buy one from that guy if it were the only one out and free.

I'm looking at doing a 6 gauge panel with Autometer Ultra-lites. I'd REALLY like this one.

I need to ponder if there is a way to do something with an original style bezel as the base.

Of course, there was metal on the '65-'66 Dash Cluster... C'mon Jay, at least have your data right.

But I agree, the plastic ones woudln't look that good. I'm not happy with the metal one I really got from Whizco before the fit hit the shan, but it was $149... so I can't overly complain as it goes.

Got me... should have laid it out cleaner. Gotta put metal where it looked like metal was . That hunk of plastic just looks like a hunk of plastic, belongs on the Barbie Mustang, they should do them in pink and get a licensing agreement.

Let's say you paid the big $$$ for the JME setup, I honestly don't think you'd ever look at it and say "I wish I had done this differently..." but with all the other options you likely would at some point.

I know you're right. It's just hard to part with that kind of dough to put gauges in. I count beans for a living and that expenditure won't pass my tightassedness.

California Mustang has a 5 & 6 guage panel. Check here

I think they are plastic with a metal insert.

EDIT: It looks just like the Haneline model.

True that... according to the little info with the ABS thing... you can CHROME it...

So you could get it... $50... have it chromed.... and then paint over the center areas with whatever you want... so you'd have the metal look without all the fuss?

You goint to try that online CAD machine shop? I think you'll find the pricing is a little scary though. That may have been what stopped me from using it, forget now though.

I have two things I want to design... one is a mount for an aftermarket side mirror that would adapt it to the factory base pattern/layout on the door. The second project are some covers so I can pull the headrests on the Corbeaus and have a clean top of the seat.

I guess I'd have to try my hand at CAD first or have my buddy who actually does CAD for a living give it a shot.

Has anyone ever seen a Dakota Digital dash in person? Any opinions? I'm not sure if I would like digital readouts in place of traditional sweeping needles, but it is kind of nice in that it preserves the 66-style 5 gauge cluster while giving more real info than an aftermarket 6 gauge setup.

You know, I've always had a soft spot for white gauges. Those look really snappy. I'd use them in a restomod.
