Front Lip / Spoiler

I know it's not quite what's there... but I have a feeling theirs is totally fabbed... and too small if you ask me... What's the point to it... it just looks like it's there for show... Need to throw some dirt, water and fertilizer on that thing and let it GROW...
As for the little fasteners... You can do it underneth and have it not even show....

do you have more pics of that car?
The late 80's early 90's versions of the Camaro and Firebird had a lip spoiler just like that. The fasteners would be behind the lip, not visible from the front. These were semi rigid plastic and had a slight V shape to them. A girl I used to date had a Trans Am, she complained of the car nearly overheating. I looked things over and found she had pulled up and over to many parking berms, this lip was missing from her car. The Camaro and Firebird have such a tiny grill opening these spoiler were required to direct air up into the radiator.
A chin spoiler does wonders at the track. It really helps to keep the front end from floating.

I bolt mine on at the track and remove it for the street.

Jay I was simply implying, that IMO the chin spoilers were favorable, and that I agree fully with anyone wanting to buy one, and/or, that has one. Even though I didn't have a specific amount of information as to where a lip could be purchased, I however thought that I would give my two cents worth. Just clearing things up, and sorry if I didn't specify the purpose for my post.
LOL, yeah. Listen guys, when you stop and think about it, is there really any purpose to the little lip on the first posted pic?? With something so small, youd think that it would provide very minimal, if no downforce whatsoever. I doubt it would hardly direct air up to the rad. So, is it merely for esthetics??? I can see no other purpose.
Not to mention they probably won't do much till past 100 mph and by then it would just rip the front valence off...so yeah I say esthetics... atleast it could double as a snowplow.....But hey everyone has there own taste and you wouldn't know how it looked if someone didn't try it......right
Just to clear things up since it does not seem to be going that way... chin spoilers look great/fine on 69+ Mustangs since they actually belong there. The concensus here is they look out of place and serve no purpuse on the 65-68 cars. This thread was originally focused on a chin spoiler for a 65/66 car.
I like the 'lip' over a spoiler on a '65-6-- haven't seen one off-the-shelf, though. Like you said easy enough to fabricate.
I had a spoiler on my '67 vert, a nice subtle design, looked good, but I tend to agree with conscensus, that spilers on 65-8s tend to run counter to their style.
Front spoilers are largely just for looks below 60 mph on the older Mustangs, after that you will find a genuine change for the better in their road feel and stability. It doesn't take a lot, and it's easy to put too big a spoiler on the car without considering balancing the aerodynamics.
Go for it Cloney.
