Can anyone give me the going prices for a 427, 428CJ, and 429CJ? I'm talking about good original engines that are complete but tore down and need rebuilt. Thanks

Check out Hemmings. They will probably have the most listings for them. I know th 427 and 428cj is going to be up into several thousands but I haven't heard much on the 429cj.

Well the guy is going through a divorce. He has a 68 model 427, a rebuilt 428 (i'm still trying to find out if it's a CJ or not) and a 429 CJ that needs rebuilt. He really doesn't want to sell them, especially the 428 since he's had it for 15 years. I feel bad for the guy but I couldn't pass up the 427. I managed to scrape up enough money for it so I gave him part of the money today and will give him the rest next week when I pick it up. I think it will look good under my hood

Fortunately, I don't know the guy personally, but I still hate to see him or anyone go through that. I can't turn down a deal on a big block though

My original idea was to buy both the 427 and the 428 and then sell the 428 to offset the cost or make a few pennies. That's why I was wondering what they were going for. I just don't think I can come up with enough $$$ to get both .....guess one will have to do
