Eleanor Mustang

Price: $ 120,000.00

351 Ford Motorsports engine with a GT-40 stroker rated at 475hp at a ratio of 3:51 started by an MSD Ignition and mounted underneath a 6-point shock tower. This engine is complimented by the correct QUAD exhaust (which many other Eleanors are not fitted with) sitting on a Roush Racing muffler, a Tremec TKO T-5 Hydraulic 5-Speed transmission, Edelbrock Pro-Flo Fuel Injection and kept cool by a Be Cool automatic radiator. I GUARANTEE you that you have never heard a nicer sounding car.

I don't get everyone's hardon with the "Eleanor" car? Sure it's cool, but for 120,000$? You could probably build that car for what, 30k? Almost 100k less than they are selling it for

To each their own... personally I think that car is over-priced. To pay Barrett Jackson-like pricing for a car like that is something that someone with way more disposable income than I might do...

Here's a link to the folks that make the Eleanors, and some other SWEET rides. Speaking of rides, they were featured on the TLC show 'Rides' awhile back, I'm sure some folks here saw it.

I wish I had the time and means to do a project like that! It would be very interesting. But that's dreaming!
Happy Trails!!!

I am pretty sure that the cars that these guys build are backed by Shelby and entered into the Shelby registry.

Watch me....but it won't be for sale(unless you have $120K you want to part with...everything has a price) and it won't be an Eleanor clone...it will be a replica of a REAL '67 GT 500 with a 351 based 427. The car is sitting in my shop waiting for me to finish my '65 to get started

120K is stupid money based solely on movie hype and the fact that some people have so much money that they don't care what a car costs.

Maybe I'll budget my car out and list what it costs to build when I do it just to show others the reality of a build....

...which brings up another one of my MAJOR problems with this whole load of BS....they are NOT and never will be REAL shelbys and have no business being in the Shelby registry. Shelby didn't build them...just lends his name in exchange for $$$....and Rick Kopec/Ken Eber of the SAAC Club only care about $$$ as well which is the only reason the car is included in the Registry! I find it insulting to real Shelby's and their owners to take a car that never was a Shelby...could've been a 6 cylinder or a 289 2V car...rebuild it and name it a Shelby and VOILA! It IS one because they say so.....BS!!! A car that has survived 40 years of time, use and hardship deserves to remain a shelby but just because a movie made a "look" popular and money can buy the permission to use the name doesn't make it a Shelby.

This is one of the things that has tarnished Shelby's image for me.....I've met and spent time with the man....nice guy and has done far more than many during his time here but like offering your product to Walmart this has done nothing but cheapen and tarnish his name IMO.

Just my opinion, but these cars are really something. It's just that now that they are building so many of them, it's losing it's appeal. In the beginning it was new and exotic. Now it's lost it's uniqueness. I can probably see one at every major car show. I believe it's your car, buy or make whatever kind of car you want. If I was going to modify my classic, I would not make it look like someone elses. Just my opinion, agree or disagree. (It's what makes this hobby so fun)

we're all entitledc to our own opinions but for me this is the one car i want b4 i die...i do agree however that it shouldnt be in the registry if it wasnt built by shelby...Although if i had a choice between a stock GT500 and Eleanor id have to take Eleanor...was built by one of the greatest car designers of all time....everyone is different and thats why we see soo many unique cars out there....ill put it this way if i could pull a line of credit for a 120K id do it........

All Eleanor personal hatred aside, the car for sale is anything but flawless, it is not even in the same league as the Unique Performance cars ( I wouldn't pay 120 for theirs either though). Aftermarket seats, hugemongus and gaudy gauges, no go baby go button, extremely poor fitment of the trunklid fiberglass, BFD I say. I wouldn't keep it If I won it with a free ticket.
