This Eleanor craze has gotten out of hand...
I don't have a problem with the 'Eleanor' concept in itself. I love restomod ideas/concepts on the vintage body styles. The problem I have with it is with the production Eleanors being passed off as Shelbys. These are NOT Shelbys, but rather just VERY expensive re-pop '67/'68 Mustangs.
They are nothing more than revamped old Mustangs with a big name attacthed to them to try and justfy giving them a ridiculously high price tag.

um, at least it's continuing the hobby. I feel bad though when the person who bought it will need to spend as much as they paid for it to remove the rust, fix panels, and repaint it.
I saw that exact car on ebay a while back. Looks like he still has had no luck. Its like a Monet painting. It looks good from a distance (like 100 yards) and then you see the imperfections! *sigh* shoulda started with the interior and engine first!
I assume now that simply putting the word 'Eleanor' in the listing adds $20K.

Here's what gets me the most: quote: For those who think I have way over priced the car I have already dropped 18,000 into the rebuilding. So I don't feel that I have over priced it. I have also dropped the reserve thanks.
Just because he sank that into it doesn't it make it worth that. Geez, he says he always intended on doing an Eleanor, yet we see not one but two different stock dimension hoods on the car, normal headlight buckets from a parts car, a 69' spoiler, basically everything and anything but the actual Eleanor parts, sheesh. Yeah, if I couldn't make up my mind and then even when I did I started building the car in one or two different ways other than I intended, ok sure, I can see spending 2 to even 3 times over what it should cost me, but to then expect someone else to pay for that, huh, good luck. Of course, these are ebay folk we are talking about here too.
eleanor mustangs are just tuner cars with mustang bodies, and the problem with tuners is they have no soul they r robots macines with no character, cartoons of there former selves the reason these kids put transformer stickers on these tuners is so that they can show other kids that they transformed there little hondas into race robots, the eleanor is robbing the mustang world of the nastalga ansd heart and soul of the classic mustang. The mustang had a design and apperance of a car with a soul and the power of a wild animal. Don't buy a eleanor! if you can build a restomod yourself and spill a little blood on the car wihile you r doing it!
