No matter what system you eventually get, it is worth the money to get a Sanden compressor. Our climate is similar to AZ, and the Tecumseh compressor I had on my 66 couldn't pull enough pressure to get the air cold at all in the heat of a summer day. With the new Sanden, it's as cool as the other side of the pillow

I agree--had a york that sounded horrible and didn't get it done. I got a sanden and went to 134a. WOULD get the Sanden again--WOULDN'T go to 134a. Doesn't get nearly as cold. (Of course, 134a isn't 80 bucks a can, either.)
