No doubt, Stroked. Your complete exterior runs circles around Boyd's. I don't care for the yellow/silver combination, and I still say there's something "wrong" with the stripe dimensions.

I'll still watch the show for some detail ideas... The suspension looks like some decent work, but I'm unimpressed by the engine compartment.

BTW, got to spend about an hour last weekend crawling ALL over the Fast Forward fastback. Everytime I look at that car, I see new details... If you look at the fender bolts on Boyd's car, you'll see plain old black oxide hexbolts with star washers (stock stuff). The FFF used stainless flat head hex socket screws with matching stainless finishing washers. Very clean and smooth, like what I'm working toward. And that's just ONE of the "little things" that you do/don't notice....

yep, when you compare this car to FFF, it's a big "swingandamiss!" for Boyd......

Its disappointing, esp considering they had FFF to blaze the trail.

From what I've seen, Boyd has about 15+ builds going at once so I can see where the quality and creativity could be lost. Troy and Chip only do a couple at a time and are more detail oriented. They still have the passion for the build, whereas Boyd is all business now. His name sells his cars for him.

Hope the same doesn't happen to the other 2 after people bombard them because of these shows. I've been a fan of Troy and Chip since the 80's when I first saw their works in Hot Rod magazine.

Yep, that's it - they did constant width stripes instead of the Shelby tapered dimensions...
And I don't care for the bright yellow radiator support showing thru behind the grill. Not to mention "something" is off center with the Pony or the stripes. I thought it might be the angle, but look at the lower mounting point of the pony - the stripes don't match it... :notnice:

I just plain don't like it
brakes are too small :notnice:
engine compartment looks wrong :notnice:
color isn't the best :notnice:
wheels don't fit the look of the car :notnice:
interior, boring :notnice:
automatic transmission, i'd rather 4 speed
underneath looks ok but not worth $150 000
and so on.
Troy's fastforward fastback is so much better in my opinion :worship: his attention to detail is amazing. everything he does fits with the overall look of the car.

Yellow isn't my favorite color on a car especially with those stripes. The back end looks to pointed off and IMO it just kills the looks of the fastback. :notnice:

Just curious...

When the episode started, Boyd received a call from one of his "good customers." This repeat buyer supposedly wanted a muscle car for his wife and Boyd turned him onto the Mustang. I assumed it was sold before it was even started.

So, why is it now for sale now?

The good customer is actually a dealer, he also owns/has for sale the Alumatub if you remember that one.

If they had hired one "Mustang Guy" to help on the project they would have cut the build time down considerably. They just had no idea where things went or how they should be.

Boyd needs to learn about consultants ... hiring a specialist on the specific model of car to decrease the headaches.

150K and no fuel cell? I'd take a Unique Performance Shelby GT350 SR any day of the week.
