Autorotica: Muscle Car Shootout
During the one-hour special scheduled to debut this summer on SPEED, muscle cars from each of the major manufacturers will battle against each other, renewing some of the old rivalries. The competitors include:

• 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge
• 1969 AMX 390 Go Package
• 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1
• 1969 Hurst Oldsmobile 442
• 1970 LS6 Chevelle SS
• 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429
• 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger

Performance will depend on the manufacturers’ differences as each muscle car will use the same fuel and the same brake materials as well as run on the same brand tires.

Too bad I'm gonna miss it!!

Should be a great show!!

You need tivo..Tivo is something no one should be without.

Most of those cars would be very happy to come live with me(only in mint condition, I no longer do restores).

I want:
a Yellow boss
A red Chevelle
An Orange Charger(not challenger)
A black 442
A green Dart
a Blue Camaro 69SS please..

And the sad thing is, I think I have this channel, and have never located it on Directv.

Wonder which car will win???

I'll bet the LS6, but I'd take the 429 over them all . . . given the choice of owning one of the cars. (Of course I'd take a 1969 Boss 429 over just about ANY car !!)

Thanks for the alert!

(And-Evil C--I getting whiplash from all your avatar changes.
Now you have gone over to the dark side--Rat Rodz?
What's on for tomorrow's picture?)

Hope the show is well done--they got some "great" material to work with during the hour.

It's not THAT bad of a 'Rat Rod'.

I have another classic 'Hot Rod' picked out!

Yeah . . I hope the show is well produced! It'll be a shame if it is all "fluffed" up!

Something along the lines of:

1. Brief History
2. Factory Stats(drag pack option, accessories, hp, torque, transmission options, etc.)
3. Factory Performance Figures (baseline relative to production year, baseline BEFORE all are equipped with standard tires, brake, fuel, etc.)
4. Let'em Loose on the strip!!

I hope there isn't a ton of ad-placement!

Someone post the results if you could. I'm taking a client to the Red's vs. Dodgers tonight. I may get a chance to see the re-airing at 1:00 am, if I can stay awake after I get home. I think it will be re-broadcast at a later date as well.

How was the program?

Don't think I'll make the 1:00 am viewing! I'll make it up on a later viewing!

I'm a little surprised the Boss won, but happy! . I always thought their performance was suppose to be sub-par the best 'Muscle Cars'.

Program was great they were very particular about keeping the cars factory stock. Even got repo tires specific to each vehicle. They also got the same brand new brake pads for each vehicle. They did mention that the Boss's performance was historically considered sub-par, but that was because the engine had been slightly detuned for the street because it was basicly a race engine. They did a little blurb on each car spread through out the program so it wasn't just one test after the other. They had one driver do all the testing and he had three attempts at each test with each car.
