A few months ago, I saw that somebody was producing a plastic backing plate that mounted 5 Autometer gauges to your existing 66 bezel with NO cutting...

Just obtain this plate, a lens, and a 66 bezel, and it all SCREWS together. Yes, I know that I could hack, cut & modify an original backing plate, but this seemed like a REALLY slick deal...

Now, where did I see those????? Seems like they were $25-$35 or so....
Buehler??? Buehler?? Buehler?

I haven't seen this product before, but I should take this time to say that this forum enforces the proper spelling of Bueller.

According to his site, they are in the works but nothing official yet. His is an all aluminum bezel that has been chrome plated.

Bob,

I know exactly what you're talking about.......... The guy that makes/markets those is out here in my neck of the woods (Actually down in the Portland, OR area. I think I've got his card at the house  (He also does a nice set of sequential tail lights ). Just last week I saw one of his injection molded backing clusters on E-Bay.

If I can find his number I'll post it

Not interested in paying hundreds for a JME/Haneline bezel, when I can buy the Ebay piece for <$40. Besides, I need 5 dials, not the aftermarket 6 dial stuff... :nono: And the turned/brushed stuff doesn't "do it" for my interior scheme.

Mocked up with a couple of old gauges. The gauges fit in the backing plate and bezel nicely. Probably a couple months before I get to the point of installing it with all 5 gauges though. Still pondering what the 5th gauge will be...

Overall it looks good. Why different gauges? And why the woodgrain (just not a fan myself)?

Who is the supplier of that housing? I know I caught your description on SN but it escapes me now...
