Question on connecting up the alternator wires to the back of the alternator. I have a '69 Mach 1 351W w/o tach, no A/C. On the back of the alternator there are FLD - field (white) & Battey (red) these can only be connected one way. The question I have is where does the other wire go? Black wire red stripe. I'm guessing this is the gauge feed wire. There are two other terminals on the back of the alternator STA (stator?) & GRD (ground).

I believe on my '67 I had that one going to GRD years ago. It's been a long time, went 1-wire about 6 years ago and never looked back. The only reason I have any memory of it is because I sold the old one off on eBay recently.

I want to say ground too, but to be sure, download and print these free wiring diagrams from Dave Hammar's site.
