I read that it was an option but can't find a picture.

I've done Yahoo and Google image searches but I cant' find a picture of a 69 GT with a Shaker.

Anyone have a picture of such a beast?

Thanks

Are you sure you know what your asking for here? Why does it have to be a GT specifically? I would think you'd be more interested in seeing a specific body stlye like say a coupe, sportsroof or convertible and not the option package like GT, Mach or Grande. From a picture perspective where you are just looking at it from a distance the only real specific tell tale signs of a GT are the rocker stripe and center cap if it has the SSW rims so I can't imagine that makes such a difference when looking at a shaker that you have to limit your search so much.

Bottomline is I just want to see a picture of 69GT with a shaker because I have never seen one, and try as I may, I can't find one.

It appears that this must be a very rare bird.

Mark,

I have just logged on and read your post. I have seen a 69 GT 390 with a shaker from the factory. It was at a local MCA show in Ft Lauderdale. The car was green with black interior and a 4-speed.

Im not sure. Here's the caption under the photo:

"The Cobra Jet engine option was available in plush and not so plush forms. This dog dish hub cap-equipped coupe was built with just one apparent option: a Ram Air, Super Cobra Jet engine. But what an option it was!"

If I'm not mistaken, the Cobra Jet was a 428 powered car and the Super Cobra Jet was 428 powered with the Drag Pack. I also think in '69 the only way to get the Shaker Hood was with the 428.

According to Brad's link, http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/time...0/69/index.htm

you could get it with a 428, 351, or 390.

A functional "Shaker" scoop was available. It was mounted on top of a special air cleaner and protruded though the hood. A vacuum-operated door opened when the throttle was floored, allowing cool air into the carburetor. The scoop was standard on the 428 Cobra Jet Ram-Air V-8 and optional for Mach 1 or GT with 351 or 390 engines.

Thank you!

That picture is one of only 58 built R code 69 GT convertibles.

There were only 257 GT fastbacks/sports roof with 428 R-code.

No wonder I couldnt find a picture.
