Hey,

We need to find some replacement pieces for our seats. the release mechanism that allows you to push the front seatback forward, is goobered up. I can't find anything at NPD or YearOne, so if anybody can help, I'd appreciate it.

There's like a spring and a bolt that go here:

And also, is there some kind of bumpstop on the seat bottom?

Thanks again ya'll

Have you tried Mustangs Plus? They operate out of Stockton, CA and have ton of classic mustang parts. I don't have a catalog with me, but you def. ought to give them a call. At least 75% of the parts used in our restoration came from them. Their order line is 1 800 999 4289 and there info line is 1 209 944 9977. I usually work with a salesman named "Ford" (yes, that's really his name). Hopefully they'll have what you're looking for. Good luck.

PS I think they also have a website.

Thanks 68Notch,

I looked em up, and didn't find anything that I'm needing. I guess inside the seat there is a long rod that is connected from the chrome lever on the side, down to a hook latch that catches on a shoulder bolt....I guess my dad has found a bolt, and I'm going to get a spring from McMaster.com. There are some small plastic clips/fastners that hold the rod in place and other small things like that, that we need to find..

I guess we'll spend a cold day rummaging around a junk yard to tear apart a seat and get what we need maybe....

Have you ever considered new seats altogether? A guy we know had some extra seats from an SN95 V6 that he was able to retrofit into our coupe. They are comfortable, look good and were very affordable. I'm not sure what the future hold for your car (daily driver or weekend toy), but its great being able to drive around not feeling like you're in horsedrawn buggy. But then again, those squeaks and rattles are half the fun! Good luck with whatever you end up doing.
