'66 rims HELP!
somebody told me that the 4 lug cobra r rims will fit my 66 pony...........is this true? does the bolt pattern match up? lemme know, cuz im about to spend 800 on rims and tires and i want them to fit so i dont get them and have wasted that kind of money!
no they are a differnt bolt pattern, my father and i just rebuilt his 68 mustang convertible, with a 6 in it and while we were at it we figured why not put on some nice rims, unfortunatly there are like no really cool rims for the 4 lug bolt pattern on early mustangs, some old dahtsuns have the same pattern, just make sure you measure the ditance from center to center of opposite lugs and that is you patter, check all rims for that same measure before you buy, and remember 1/4 of an inch off will not work have a good one and happy hunting
You can buy adapters on eBay to convert from 4 lug to match the 5 lug or whatever. If you are just limping around with a 6cyl. then you should be fine. Some guys swear by them but I tend to prefer getting wheels that fit properly... or in your case upgrading to 5 lug.
well i found an adapter on ebay....so somebody tell me the bolt pattern of a 1966 mustang 6 cylinder.....and also the bolt pattern of 79-93 cobra r 4 lugs, i need this so i can tell the guy when i bid....thanx all for the help
Early Mustang is 4 on 4-1/2" bolt circle.
Fox Mustang is 4 on 4-1/4" bolt circle.
You can easily verify bolt circles with a tape measure.

I have always steered away from any sort of wheel adaptors myself. HOWEVER, the new billet materials (as opposed to the old weak cast aluminum stuff) is supposed to be very strong and very safe for use.
I've never run them and don't intend to - I'd much rather do it right to begin with. But, there are a LOT of people running the late-model wheels on vintage cars using the billet adaptors.

I too plan on eventually putting Bullitt wheels on my car. Quality adapters have a good record of reliability. If I was planning on road racing, I would certainly go a different route, but for a street driven car they should be fine.
As far as your photoshop request, you really need a better pic of your car (preferably a profile shot) and the wheel pic needs to be at basically the same angle for the photoshopped pic to work right.
