66 5 guage dash wiring

I have almost finished wiring my 66 coupe 289 with American Autowire update kit. Problem is the instructions show a 67 cluster with speedo & tacho, the dials hav 3 connections on the back. My instrument cluster only has the speedo, the back of the dials only have 2 connections each and the lamps have a single connection each. I am not planning to keep the ameter. How does the cluster wire up with this kit? I have sent an email to AAW about it but no response still.
Thanks in advance.

No response. I've sent multiple emails and also to their so called tech support with pics as well. Not a thing so far. Even emailed two managers even they didn't respond. Candidates for worst customer service of the year? Been weeks now waiting for sumbody to get back to me, they dont care buy the looks of it. Starting to think i had got the painless kit now. Thanks for asking kinyodas. I think my issue is around the voltage regulator. I will have to get an electrian to look at it. Perhaps i should then send the bill to autowire!

Should of also mentioned their 64-66 mustang kit shows a wire diag for 67 style speedo & tach config dash without the voltage regulator! Thats why i am having issues and they dont appear to be offering support on something that is not clear for the model i purchased it for. Their kit also says things like "AAW does not supply this wire" in a few instances. If thats the case why call it a complete kit? Please be very careful if you are going to buy this kit. Their tools cost an arm and a leg too $94 & $96 a piece which would make the Painless kit a very good alternative at that price. AAW kit will NOT allow you to use factory aircon which mine had (and now cant use) as the fusebox mounts on the firewall where the pipes come into the dash area. Thats not very clear until you open the box and the piece of paper says "Stop" in red letters. It then says you are recommended to use single wire alternator too. More money on top of the wire loom! Its not all bad as the kit has some good parts, but there is other things to consider as i mentioned. My mechanic mate has some ideas to get round the aircon issue tho! Nearer the time i will advise the mod if it would be any use?

Good news at long last. Delay in response was due to AAW being at the SEMA 2011 show. Since the show finished they got back to me with the answer i was after. It looks like these rewire kits still do need the original half harness', such as dash & wiper etc. If you don't have those then its not quite so simple. Anyway thanks to AAW who do indeed live up to their good reputation after all. I can now get on with my dash.
