65 mustang grill modification

Modifying a 66 grill for a buddy of mine. I'm deleting the bracket part of it and making it look like a one piece grill. I was wondering if a 05 and up grill is similar enough to fit in a 65 opening. Didn't know if anyone had tried yet? If not I might do the same thing as I'm doing for my buddy. Its just super time consuming. The grill is to soft to use a dremel or disk. Didn't know if anyone had any better ways to do it besides a file. Took me about an hour just to do the one section as shown in the pic

Here's a quick pick of it today I slipped it in there for a quick pic while I was doing front balance fitment. Looks like crap without the valance but you guys get the idea. And I was able to use a grinder to do the little supports in the middle but for the bracket part I had to drill enough holes in it to fit files in there and slowly had to file them all down. I've down two alreay. It takes a few hours with the right tools and new files to have nice bite that takes the metal down fast enough

Yea I think it looks good, I still want to retrofit a 05 gt grill in it though. And for your hood problem, you'd be better off finding a used hood or aftermarket one that fits better. Fitment is the problem with post parts that didn't come stock on the car. My repop driver side headlight door fits so horrible, I want to find a nos one

Really? A used or aftermarket hood would be better? Bummer. It doesn't need to be perfect but a couple inches higher would be better...and keep some of the 'mean' look. I've half a mind to have a scotch and go wrench on it myself...but I won't. Thanks for the help and you ought to market that grill...it's nice.
