Question 64 1/2 65

Whats the difference? May sound like a tupid question; I have only owned a 99 and 05 but have always loved the classics. Reason I am asking is my neighbor has one in his backyard and he himself was not sure on the year. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

For 1 thing the '65 has an alternator, 64 has generator and light in dash saying so.
Check the VIN # it will tell you 1st # s/b 4 or 5 for 1964 or 1965

Also there were no fastbacks offered in 64.5 there were also different embems and if its a v-8 and a 64.5 it may have a 260

64.5 also had the 170 cid 6 cylinder the 65 had the 200 cid. The easiest way to tell though is the gen vs alt.

its really hard to say without being able to see the car.. Check for rust holes at bottom of fenders behing front wheels, behind rear wheels and rear frame rails were the leaf springs connect and the floor pans.

18 years old...had the need for speed. sold that plus a 1990 GT vert i had at the time to get a 1999 GT.

Basically the 90 was fast but it kept having problems..so my solution was to buy a newer car that would be fast and reliable.

Well the plan worked but I never knew how bad of debt that car would cuase me. d'oh.

And I bought the 1965 ina little worse condition then those pics for $4300 bucks . Finding one with that perfect interior with less then 60,000 original miles today at that price would be impossible.
